Tickets will be emailed to purchasers 1 week prior to the event.  We will be able to scan your ticket on your phone if you don’t print it – however for a quicker process, printing tickets out prior to arriving at the event is preferred. ADA

Blurry Vision is a fully accessible event, and we are dedicated to continually improving our efforts to ensure you have access to all the event amenities. We welcome and encourage all feedback and suggestions from our patrons. The following explains the services provided this year. Access Center

Please Note: You must stop here to get your ADA wristband credential.

There will be an Access Center conveniently located inside the entrance of the venue. At the Access Center you can:

  • Get your ADA wristband credential.
  • Get your ADA questions answered.
  • Learn about other accessibility services.

Wristband Policies

  • ADA Wristbands are good for the whole weekend
  • DO NOT remove your wristband for the duration of the event
  • Lost or stolen wristbands will not be replaced
  • One companion wristband will be issued for each disabled patron, exceptions will be made for families with young children
  • If a disabled guests wants to switch their companion, please bring the old companion wristband to the Access Center to be reissued

Wheelchair Accessibility

The venue is fully navigable for people with mobility disabilities. There are accessible pathways connected throughout the venue including parking, entrances, stages, vendors and all other activity areas. We encourage all patrons to utilize personal forms of transportation, including wheelchairs and scooters. If you need to recharge your motorized wheelchair, you may do so at the Access Center. Patrons should bring all cords and accessories needed to charge their devices. Chargers must use a 110-volt, 20 amp circuit.

We will not be providing wheelchair or scooter rentals.

ADA Parking

ADA vehicles will need a verified ADA placard, permit, or license plate to enter the event site. The person to whom the placard or plate is issued to must be present in the vehicle, as a driver or passenger. This will be verified by law enforcement upon entry.

Accessible Viewing Areas

There will be an accessible viewing area made available to ADA patrons who may need to see above the crowd on the Main Stage at Blurry Vision. To gain access to these areas, please visit the Access Center.

Accessible Viewing Area Policies:

  • Companions may be asked to stand if capacity is reached
  • These are non-smoking areas
  • Patrons are not allowed to save spots and if a guest is not-present for over an hour, their area will be given to another disabled guest

Service Animals

Service animals are permitted throughout the event site; however this does not include emotional support animals, therapy animals, or companion animals. Only legitimate service animals will be allowed within the event footprint. Pets are not allowed and will be turned away.

If you are bringing a service animal, make sure to check in at the ADA Access Center for registration. Only legitimate service animals that are properly trained and under the proper care of their owners will be provided with the appropriate credentials.

Due to large-scale service animal fraud and for the protection of all event patrons, service animals must be screened and registered at the Access Center immediately upon entry to the site.

  • All service animals must remain by the handler’s side at all times and must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
  • Service animals must be housebroken and should use the service animal relief area.
  • Anyone bringing an animal will be responsible for and liable for any damage or injury caused by the animal.
  • All animals should have legally required vaccinations which may checked

Keep in mind, requests must be made no later than 21 days before the event to allow for sufficient processing time.

Additional Services

  • ATMs & Concessions: All ATMs and concessions are fully accessible and located throughout the venue. If assistance is required, please confer with a event staff member.
  • First Aid: We have a First Aid location in the venue, noted on the  event map and mobile app. Professional medical staff can help you with your medical needs at this location.
  • Special Dietary Needs: Blurry Vision will have food vendors that provide gluten-free dietary options. For those with special dietary needs beyond the event food service, please contact us at ada@blurryvisionfest.com. for further information.

Who can I contact for questions regarding my tickets?

Can I transfer my pass(es) to friends or family?

As long as the ticket is valid, anyone can use it for entrance in the event, not just the purchaser.

 

How do I get my tickets? What if I don’t have a printer? Can I show the confirmation on my phone?

Tickets will be emailed to purchasers 2-3 weeks prior to the event. We will be able to scan your ticket on your phone if you don’t print it – however for a quicker process, printing tickets out prior to arriving at the event is preferred.

The Khadafy Washington foundation for non-violence is a 501c (3) establish in 2001. The foundation provides Help, Hope, and Healing to hurting communities and families. Khadafy was slain at his high school August 4, 2000 after graduation, the foundation was named after him and his family began work that same year. The Foundation provides intensive support services to families and friends of homicide victims, including: first response to scenes of homicides (when applicable), home visits to families and friends, crisis counseling, financial assistance to families facing loss of income and funeral expenses, memorial planning and preparation, general support/presence during funeral and related events, victims of crime compensation applications and more.

Mack to Africa, fiscally sponsored by The Mentoring Center a 501c3 organization, is a project for the students to expand their awareness through cultural exchange, build on their sense of pride and self-esteem by participating in community service and grow their worldview through traveling and exposure to other languages. This year’s two week program will take place March 27, 2018-April 9, 2018 and will include approximately 28 students, 16 adult mentors and 5 junior mentors on a tour to Johannesburg to learn about South African history and culture, engage in a cultural exchange with young people from QwaQwa, Free State, and participate in excursions that include a safari, a visit to the Naledi High School in Soweto and an African naming ceremony. This year’s trip will include students from McClymonds High School, Castlemont High School, Skyline High School, a student from Oakland Tech and Ille Omode.

Can I pass out flyers or promote at the event inside the venue? Outside?

No. Any sort of unapproved promotion is not allowed.

 

Are strollers allowed in the venue?

Yes. But, only if it’s for an infant or toddler.

 

Can I bring my bicycle? Will there be bike parking available?

There is no official bike parking. Patrons can ride to the shuttle lot and lock it there at their own risk.

Can I bring a sign or a totem?

No signs are allowed. This includes all handheld signs or signs and items attached to poles or pool noodles or apparatus used to display anything above the head. All instances will be subject to surrender and not returned.

 

What about bringing my medical prescriptions (asthma, insulin, etc.)?

Before entering the event, please make sure all of the medications are properly labeled with name, phone number, and emergency contact. Names on prescriptions must match the person's ID. Notify a security guard at the entrance and the medical staff on site will assist you with storing your medications. Medical marijuana or marijuana of any kind is not allowed at the event.
